Confession: The idea to start a blog did not come from me. Exposing myself to potentially millions of people (from my lips to God’s ears) did not thrill me. This did not make me feel safe.
So why this blog? Why now? Why not simply journal and keep those thoughts and experiences private? The conversation about blogging came from a dear friend of mine who, after hearing one of my stories, suggested I should write my thoughts, life stories and experiences as a way to teach, motivate and encourage. She also thought it would be an excellent creative outlet.
I have travelled domestically and abroad, lost weight, got out of debt, went back to school and completed grad school and became a homeowner are a few of the things I’ve achieved. On the other hand, there have been some heartbreaking hurts – broken relationships, failed marriages, questioning my faith, losing myself in pleasing others, gaining back the lost weight, mismanaged finances, and tragic losses in my family and by-gone friendships. Life is real! Life is happening!
- I have learned some pretty amazing lessons in these last 50+ years. These lessons came by way of my faith, my relationships and heartaches and hurts.
- I believe sharing my experiences, those missteps and suggestions with you will encourage and inspire you to take those “now what” steps in your life.
- Finally, help you realize you are not alone. There is safety in community.
Today, I am enjoying me. I am taking time to learn Linda. Step along with me as I walk this journey called my life. I invite you to peep into my open book. I’ll be recalling some moments of joy, cheer, disappointments and loneliness while sharing candid insights to what keeps me living my life, choosing gratitude and consistently recognizing how blessed I am.
Welcome to now what, Linda?
