He is on MY SIDE

In the Book of Revelation, John is foretelling the glorious-ness of being in the presence of God. He shares, each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes al around, even under their wings. Day and night they never stop saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worship Him who lives forever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.”

There is no greater name than the name Jesus. There is no other name as worthy to receive all our worship and all that we are. Because of His great love for us, Jesus willingly laid down His life to cover all of our sins and make a way for us to freely enter in the presence of God. We can boldly come to the Father and have relationship with Him because of the beautiful gift Jesus gave us.

Why would I turn to anyone else? When it gets tough, why would I try to take it on alone? He is on my side. If He is for me, who (or what) can be against me? Ask yourself these questions and consider honestly your responses. Instead I urge you to run to Him instead. Turn your attention, your mind, your heart to God when difficulties arise. Take time in your day to acknowledge the reality of Christ in you, the hope of glory. Train your heart and mind to not just come to Him when seasons are a crazy mess, but bring your love and devotion every day to Him who is so worthy.

As God has allowed me to turn another year older, I am blessed to recall the good and the bad of the last 365 days. And despite the toughest of memories to recall, I am amazed at how blessed a year I’ve lived. I feel more alive than ever before; my health and well-being is at peace; my family is well and contented in their education and career choices; my friendships and alliances are more significant and meaningful. As well, there have been low points too, including the constant memories of my little sister not being with me and her children, the loss of life throughout the pandemic season, economic instability, heartbreak, and more. Nevertheless, the list of how impactful God has been in my life goes on and on. I cannot be more rejoiceful at how God has shown Himself to be faithful and consistent even when I have not been. But because He knows my heart and true intensions, He has filled in the gaps and stepped in in ways I never could have fulfilled on my own strength. The saying goes, “if you start thinking, you’ll start thanking“‘. You will have no choice but to scream, cry, tear up at all the wonderful things you have achieved, goals accomplished, hard times you have experienced and overcome to see another day. I am just tearing up just thinking about how good God has been to me. I only can anticipate the best is yet to come.

I have come to realize that God works His miracles in the but God moments. Right in the cut of the worst things that can happen and the moments of release and overcoming, God is right there. God serves as my warrior, soldier, protection, shield and strength. He steps in with a wisdom and force, not to be reckoned with. If you are particularly aware of the circumstances you will have no choice but to watch just as carefully as God carefully and strategically moves mountains and swats gnats out of your path. God will build patience in you while God adjusts the actions and mindsets of your enemies. God will extract from you mercy toward those who will intentionally try to misuse and abuse you. And in the end, in total God fashion, He will have you to overcome the pitfalls of life with new insight, understanding and a testimony to share with others. Ultimately it is the primary goal with us Believers to be an example before others of God’s greatness in all seasons so that He will get the glory out of our lives.

In the meantime, spend dedicated moments to reflect on the goodness of the Almighty and most holy God. “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased.” – Revelation 4:11 NLT
